Standard RYE Schedule
The following is a suggested calendar for a
Rotary District RYE Committee. It contains references to the important
Rotary Club Committee activities throughout the year.
AUGUST/
SEPTEMBER |
- Attend SCRYE training session
- Arrange for or reaffirm overseas
commitments
- Call for applications from clubs and set
date for interviews
- Welcome inbounds; orient when all arrive
- Goodbye to out bounds
- Contact schools for inbound registration

| OCTOBER |
- Follow up with clubs for applications
- Publicize in Governor's newsletter
- Accept and edit applications
- Initial cut on which countries to
exchange with
- Request evaluation from current outbounds
(their opinion on the district orientation)
- Placement of Southern Hemisphere students

NOVEMBER/
DECEMBER |
- Selection interview for outbounds
- Decide on which outbound goes where
- Letter of reject/accept

- Outbound applications sent overseas
- First orientation for outbounds and
parents
- Southern Hemisphere arrivals and
orientation
- Southern Hemisphere departure and
evaluation
- Interview, select and orient host

- Follow up with overseas districts for
outbound placement status
- As inbound applications arrive, place in
clubs

- Train club YE committees at District
Assembly

- SCRYE trip for inbounds*

* In June of each year, SCRYE conducts bus
tours throughout the U.S. for inbound exchangees. Cost about $1,250 for the
20 day tours.
