Long tracking process
Local YEO must take responsibility for contacting

Give incentive to ex-exchangees to belong to ROTEX

Zack

Maybe need another Organization to deal only with ROTEX
Biggest ROTEX responsibility falls at the Local Club.
Since only a couple of persons are involved in YE in the local club that
often results in a breakdown.

Key ingredient is to indoctrinate student into Rotary as applicants, as outbounds,
 and as rebounds.

Start informing students early on
Pick younger students who come back to HS. Thus they get at least one more
year of being informed about Rotary.
Get them into projects: Newsletter etc.
Make referrals to colleges. Tell the college that they have a youth ambassador in
their midst who is used to service. Put them to work

Make YE students mini-Rotarians –
Rotary meals 1x per month until they leave.
District level person assigned to ROTEX
Open invitation for lunch at the club

Make kids welcome in Club activities as soon as students come back.
Club level YE THANK YOU night should include ROTEX
Make student HONARY member
Teach Students the “other benefits of after involvement”: being involved in
Rotary means better job opportunities after graduation

At club level
Club should consider themselves Uncles and Aunts to Inbounds
PE should consider themselves Pregnant with Inbound
It’s a language both understand
Student needs to act as nephew/niece
Teach the student to act as Niece/Nephew with sponsoring club before
going overseas.
Send thank you cards with Students so that they can send thank-you cards
while they are overseas.

Turkey
Lots of Roteract clubs overseas
Rotex help with Dist Committees operations

Get returning students to come to Rotary Club meetings.

Paul Reagan
Give YE students incentive to join ROTEX
What is it students want most, upon return? To travel again!
So give one ROTEX per year a partially, or totally, paid trip to
Regional Meeting or to the International meeting.
Selection for trip to be by their ROTEX ORGANIZATION peers
Put ROTEX on program at regional and International meetings
Offer ROTEX the opportunities of New Generations exchanges each
 summer.
